The Sulong Triathlon Group is one of the fastest growing clubs in MB! We are all about training hard, finding the fun in our workouts and enjoying social time together. To accomplish our goals, we look to many training options, tools, and methods.
This is one of the things that sets Sulong apart; we realize everyone's schedules may not be able to accommodate a set weekly training regime.
Below are summaries of our training options for each individual discipline within the sport of triathlon, as well as ways to connect as a club using electronic training tools. If you have any questions about these, feel free to contact us.
Wonder Athletes - Masters Swim Club
Coach Wanda helps you develop your technique, body position, breathing and stroke efficiency.
Tuesdays and Thursdays @ Cindy Klassen Rec. Centre (CKRC) - 5:00 - 6:30pm
Saturdays @ CKRC - 6:00am
Sundays @ CKRC - 7:00 - 9:00am
Regular pool admission fees apply all days except Saturday.
Open Water Swims:
During the summer months, Coach Wanda organizes weekly open water swims because no matter how good you are in a pool, gaining confidence and skills for open water swimming is an essential part of triathlon. Open water can be both invigorating and rewarding, but also presents unique challenges – deep-water mass starts, close proximity swimming, sighting, sun glare, turns around buoys, current, breathing in rough water, cold water immersion and swim exits. Practice can help gain experience with all these things.

Team Cycling @ the Winnipeg Winter Club
Thursdays - 7:30 - 9:00pm

Sulong organizes group rides taking in many different routes throughout Manitoba and into Northwest Ontario (Kenora area).
Group rides vary in distance and look to accommodate all skill levels with a no-drop policy. The schedule and route are shared in advance.
We have some very knowledgeable and experienced marathoners who willingly share run plans, provide guidance on technique, pacing, and speed work.
Join us for organized group runs, and participate in brick runs at special indoor sessions and outdoor training sessions.

Strength Training Option:
Step up your strength with a concentrated 8 week strength training program running February and March.
